I de aller fleste tilfeller er \u00e5rsaken ukjent og tilstanden ufarlig. Mange tar kontakt med fysioterapeut eller annet helsepersonell p\u00e5 grunn av ryggsmerter, og hensikten med dette blogginnlegget vil derfor v\u00e6re \u00e5 rydde litt opp i begreper og ofte stilte sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l knyttet til nettopp rygg.<\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>M\u00e5 jeg ta MR for \u00e5 vite hva som er galt?<\/strong><br \/>Svaret er nei. Som oftest vil en samtale og grundig unders\u00f8kelse av din terapeut gi en god pekepinn p\u00e5 hvordan man skal forholde seg til plagene videre.<\/p><p>De som tar bilde av ryggen, f\u00e5r ofte et MR-resultat med en tekst s\u00e5 langt som et vondt \u00e5r med en haug fremmedord. Mange vil tenke \u00aboi, var det s\u00e5 mye galt med den ryggen!\u00bb. Dette skaper un\u00f8dvendige bekymringer og Googles\u00f8k som forverrer det hele. Det er viktig \u00e5 presisere at det meste av resultatet ofte beskriver det som er h\u00f8yst normale (og ufarlige!) funn.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Hva er prolaps?<\/strong><br \/>Skiveprolaps med nerverotirritasjon st\u00e5r for kun 5-10 % av alle ryggsmerter. I ryggs\u00f8ylen er det mellomvirvelskiver (virker som st\u00f8tdempere til ryggen). Disse best\u00e5r av en indre kjerne og en solid beskyttelse rundt (fiberringer). Det er h\u00f8yst naturlig med noe slitasje her gjennom livet. Mange har prolaps uten \u00e5 v\u00e6re klar over det, og det er ikke farlig. I enkelte tilfeller kan den indre kjernen bule ut slik at den komprimerer nerveroten. Dette kalles prolaps.<\/p><p>Det er viktig \u00e5 presisere at ingenting \u00abfaller ut\u00bb av sin posisjon i ryggen, eller m\u00e5 dyttes p\u00e5 plass. Tilstanden kan gi utstr\u00e5lende smerter ned i bena, samt nummenhet og krafttap. Men den gode nyheten er at de aller fleste blir helt bra i l\u00f8pet av noen m\u00e5neder.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Hva gj\u00f8r jeg hvis ryggen er vond?<\/strong><br \/>Det minst fornuftige du kan gj\u00f8re, er \u00e5 legge deg ned p\u00e5 sofaen og h\u00e5pe at du kan hvile ryggen bra. Fors\u00f8k \u00e5 bevege deg, og g\u00e5 heller flere korte turer. Ved veldig sterke smerter, kan man trenge veiledning for \u00e5 finne avlastede hvilestillinger i kombinasjon med lette \u00f8velser. Deretter gjelder gradvis \u00f8kende belastning og gjenopptakelse av daglige aktiviteter. Det er mye forskning p\u00e5 omr\u00e5det, og man kommer tilbake til at individuelt tilpasset trening fungerer best.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Hva p\u00e5virker ryggsmertene?<\/strong><br \/>Mange kommer med uttalelser som \u00abjeg har nok l\u00f8ftet g\u00e6rent\u00bb eller \u00abjeg er veldig svai i korsryggen\u00bb. I de aller fleste tilfeller, vil det v\u00e6re andre faktorer som p\u00e5virker dine smerter. Frykt for at ryggen skal bli verre av aktivitet, samt overdreven beskyttelse av ryggen, kan skape et uheldig m\u00f8nster. Det kan f.eks. v\u00e6re at man alltid unng\u00e5r \u00e5 b\u00f8ye seg ned mot gulvet for \u00e5 plukke opp noe. Slike katastrofetanker som sier at ryggen er skj\u00f8r og bevegelse b\u00f8r unng\u00e5s, kan forsterke smerten.<\/p><p>Faktorer som stress og nedstemthet, samt hvordan man faktisk har det sosialt sett i hverdagen, b\u00e5de famili\u00e6rt, p\u00e5 jobb og ellers, kan ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5virke situasjonen negativt. Det samme gjelder nedsatt s\u00f8vnkvalitet og inaktiv livsstil.<\/p><p>Det er alts\u00e5 et sammensatt bilde av ulike faktorer som p\u00e5virker smerteopplevelsen. For mange kan det v\u00e6re til stor hjelp at man vet at det er ufarlig \u00e5 bevege seg. Opplevelse av mestring og tanker som sier at \u00abdet blir bedre!\u00bb, kan bidra til \u00e5 snu en slik negativ trend.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Hva er den beste rygg\u00f8velsen?<\/strong><br \/>Det finnes ikke en bestemt rygg\u00f8velse eller treningsform som er mest effektiv. Forskningen er helt tydelig p\u00e5 at man b\u00f8r fors\u00f8ke \u00e5 v\u00e6re i aktivitet s\u00e5 godt det lar seg gj\u00f8re. Velg en aktivitet du trives med og s\u00f8rg for \u00e5 begynne gradvis. Trening i seg selv kan v\u00e6re smertelindrende ettersom det gj\u00f8r at kroppen skiller ut hormoner som demper smerten.
