{"id":2417,"date":"2025-11-11T12:57:53","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.techhivetechnologies.com\/blocktvgambia\/darboe-promises-voting-rights-for-gambians-in-diaspora-if-elected\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T12:57:53","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:57:53","slug":"darboe-promises-voting-rights-for-gambians-in-diaspora-if-elected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.techhivetechnologies.com\/blocktvgambia\/darboe-promises-voting-rights-for-gambians-in-diaspora-if-elected\/","title":{"rendered":"Darboe promises voting rights for Gambians in Diaspora if elected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>United Democratic Party (UDP) leader Lawyer Ousainu Darboe has pledged to increase the number of seats in the National Assembly if his party returns to power, while also vowing to restore the voting rights of Gambians in the diaspora.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran politician lamented that Gambians living abroad have long been denied their constitutional right to vote, describing it as a major injustice that must be corrected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Gambian diaspora are denied the right to vote,\u201d Darboe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I urge them to come home in April and register.
