The Office of the Clerk, in collaboration with International IDEA under the Consolidation of Democratic Reforms (CODE) Project, convened a two-day strategic engagement for the Select Committee on Gender, Children, and Social Welfare to review the proposed Reservation Bill.<\/p>\n
The engagement seeks to build a shared understanding of the provisions among Committee Members and key stakeholders, while outlining a clear roadmap for its formal introduction and tabling before the National Assembly. It also provides a platform for technical input to ensure the Bill is aligned with international best practice and national development priorities, thereby strengthening the legislative framework for inclusive and equitable governance.<\/p>\n
The Chairperson of the Committee, Hon. Fatoumatta Touma Njai, noted that Members showed strong interest in the Bill and described the discussions as highly engaging.<\/p>\n
